DATA PROTECTION

Privacy policy

This policy explains transparently which data Sève uses, why it is needed and which choices remain in your hands.

Last updated: 14 September 2026

1. Data controller

Sève is a digital service operated by an individual. The data controller’s contact details are provided at the bottom of this page.

You can use the email address provided for any questions about your personal data.

2. Data processed

Depending on the features used, Sève may process:

  • Account and identity: account identifier, name, email address and information needed to sign in.
  • Subscription: Stripe customer identifier, subscription status, plan, billing dates and payment events. Sève does not receive or store full payment card numbers.
  • Service usage: quota consumption, generated recipes and information needed for the account to work.
  • Cooking information: ingredients, preferences, country, budget, number of people, voluntarily declared allergies or intolerances, dietary goals, food or receipt photos and requests sent to the assistant.
  • Pantry and local preferences: foods, quantities, dates entered, recipe history and settings saved in the browser.
  • Contact: first name, last name, email address and content submitted through the form.
  • Technical data: security and operational logs, IP address, device, browser and timestamps, to the extent needed to host and protect the service.

Allergies and intolerances may reveal sensitive information. Providing them is optional and processing is limited to adapting the suggestions you request.

3. Purposes and legal bases

Data is used to provide the requested service, create and secure the account, generate cooking suggestions, manage quotas and subscriptions, provide support, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.

Depending on the circumstances, processing is based on providing the service or performing the contract, your explicit request or choice, legitimate interests relating to security and operational improvements, and applicable legal obligations.

4. Artificial intelligence and photos

When you request an analysis or generation, the necessary information — including ingredients, preferences, declared allergies, descriptions and any images — is sent to OpenAI to produce the requested result.

Sève’s API calls use the store: false parameter. Sève does not retain photos or receipts in its own database after processing the request. Nevertheless, avoid sending images containing unnecessary personal information.

5. Service providers and disclosures

Sève uses specialist providers that process only the data necessary for their role:

  • Vercel for hosting and technical logs;
  • Clerk and, if you choose it, Google for authentication;
  • Stripe for payments and subscription management;
  • Turso for account data, subscription data and certain account-related settings;
  • OpenAI for analysis and generating suggestions;
  • Resend and Infomaniak for sending and receiving contact messages.

Some providers may process data outside Switzerland. Sève selects recognised providers and relies on their contractual safeguards and applicable protection mechanisms for international transfers.

Sève does not sell your personal data or use it for targeted advertising.

6. Local storage and cookies

The pantry, certain preferences, saved plans and cooking history are mainly stored in your browser’s local storage. You can delete them by clearing site data in your browser settings.

Strictly necessary cookies may be used for sign-in, security and maintaining your session. As of the date of this policy, Sève does not use advertising cookies or optional behavioural analytics tools.

7. Retention periods

  • Account and subscription data is retained during the relationship with the user, and then for as long as needed for accounting obligations, security and dispute resolution.
  • Contact form data is retained for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and reasonably follow up on the relationship.
  • Locally stored data remains on the device until the user or browser deletes it.
  • Technical logs are retained for limited periods defined by the relevant providers.

8. Your rights

You may request access to your data, its correction, erasure or provision in a commonly used format where that right applies, or object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent for the future where processing is based on consent.

Send your request to contact@seve-health.com. Proof of identity may be requested where necessary to avoid disclosing data to the wrong person. You may also contact the competent data protection authority.

9. Security and changes

Sève implements reasonable security measures, limits access to technical secrets, and entrusts payments and authentication to specialist providers. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

This policy may change as features or applicable obligations evolve. The update date displayed at the top of the page identifies the version in effect.
